Hi, my name is Sammy and I’ve suffered from migraines for nearly 10 years and during this time I’ve tried every migraine remedy you can imagine. Prescribed migraine prevention drugs carried too many side effects to make them a suitable solution for me so managing the symptoms of a migraine is where I’ve focused my attention.
Like many migrainers I’ve had to deal with the ignorance of non-suffers towards the condition. Most people believe you either just have a bad headache or are just exaggerating your symptoms. I find this slightly ironic since I suffer mainly from ocular migraines which, as you might now, are actually migraines without(usually) the headache. I experience the visual disturbances or migraine “aura” followed by light sensitivity, nausea and tiredness which usually lasts for about 2 days.
There is also the shame and embarrassment of experiencing a migraine attack right before an important work or family event. How many times has a friend or partner had to make excuses for me not being there.
Anyway, I decided to create this site to help people like myself who have to live with this terrible affliction. By sharing experiences and possible migraine treatments, hopefully we can find ways to reduce the frequency of attacks and live a more fullfilling life. I’ll be recording my migraine research and personal experiences in the blog section of this site and I encourage you to leave your own comments as well.
